Site Service Technician – (Position based in Houston, TX)

Job Description

JOB PURPOSE: Monitor the installation of laid pipes and jointing tasks to meet approved procedures by documenting repairs and conducting hydro and deflection tests on the installed lines.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Preparation of pipes/fittings, Raw Materials, including tools & consumables

  • Identify all pipe, fittings and chemicals
  • Separate pipes, fitting and chemicals on the system
  • Prepare pipe and fittings surfaces as per company procedures
  • Property store pipes and fittings and make sure they are in good condition
  • Monitor the chemicals’ expiry date
  • Performance Measures (by number of failures or erroneous joints)

Pipe and fittings installation and jointing

  • Ability to identify required jointing tools and consumables
  • Handle pipes, fittings, tools and jointing chemicals
  • Apply designed routings to pipe settings and layout
  • Have pipes fittings jointed as per the approved FPI procedures to meet the quality standards
  • Maintains daily jointing/ installation progress records and update reports.
  • Performance Measures (by number of failures or erroneous joints)

Identification of defects and undertake repairs

  • Identify pipe and fittings defects and report them
  • Undertake repairs as per the approved procedures and quality standards
  • Maintains records of defects records and update reports
  • Performance Measures (by number of failures or erroneous joints)

Undertake Hydro test and deflection test

  • Conduct hydro tests on all lines according to the approved site procedures and quality standards
  • Conduct defection tests on GRP lines according to the approved site procedures and quality standards
  • Maintains records of hydro test records and update reports
  • Performance Measures (Awareness in following the company procedures)

HSE

  • Comply with relevant safety, quality and environmental control procedures and instructions
  • Use personal protective equipment and safety gear when performing assigned tasks
  • Keep operational areas clean and well organized to prevent incidents and accidents
  • Maintain assigned tools, equipment and machinery in good working order
  • Report unsafe acts, incidents or safety violations
  • Maintains records of safety incidents and update reports
  • Performance Measures (HSE compliance records)

SPAN OF Communication:

  • Internal: Site Service Team
  • External: None

Skills

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Technical Diploma

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Knowledge in Piping terminologies
  • 1-2 years of work experience in fiberglass related field

 

Job-Specific Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret method statements, equipment manuals, lamination recipes
  • Knowledge in piping terminology
  • Ability to read drawings and identify pipe components
  • Ability to use/operate digital/electronic equipment properly

 

COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to perform quality jointing and lamination activities in an effective and efficient manner.
