Job Description
Position Title: Stores Supervisor
Job Purpose: Responsible for overseeing a wide variety of warehouse activities including shipping and receiving raw materials and/or finished goods and maintaining inventory and associated records
Key Accountabilities:
Inventory Replenishment
- Control and maintain current stock levels and material documentation
- When dispatching materials ensure all required documentation and guidelines are provided
- Receipt & Issuing of Goods
- Coordinate receiving inspections with QC before accepting materials
- Manage all consumables in compliance with requested specifications
- Issue materials and items upon completion of valid requisition documents / vouchers
Storage of Raw Materials and Consumables
- Order raw materials in a timely manner to comply with production department requirements
- Plan the incoming material offloading process to ensure that proper space storage is arranged, and port demurrage is avoided
- Ensure that Stores items are clearly marked, and physical stock count is taken periodically in order to verify with LN system and minimize the stock level
- Control the raw material stock and aging levels, and report to the management to ensure the raw material are usable
Teamwork & Employee Excellence
- Enhance work environment to promote and drive employee engagement and team effectiveness
- Conduct annual performance appraisals and provide staff feedback regarding strengths, areas for improvements and development opportunities
- Establish KPI’s for individual units and ensure that they are aligned with FPI’s mission and vision
HSE
- Comply with relevant safety, quality and environmental control procedures and instructions
- Use personal protective equipment and safety gear when performing assigned tasks
- Keep operational areas clean and well organized to prevent incidents and accidents
- Maintain assigned tools, equipment and machinery in good working order
- Report unsafe acts, incidents or safety violations
- Develop a safety culture by ensuring all staff comply with HSE policies and procedures
- Participate in QHSE audits, incident reporting and review of QHSE performances as required
Span of Communication:
- Internal: General Manager, All Line Managers
- External: Shipping and clearing agents (when requested)
Skills
Qualification, Experience & Skills:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent
Preferred Experience:
- 3 to 5 years stores / warehousing experience
- At least 2 years in supervisory role
Job-Specific Skills:
- Control of stocks
- Ability to identify mechanical and electrical items for storage
- Ability to read and clearly relay technical specifications
- Ability to operate ERP systems
