JOB PURPOSE

Initiate, manage and execute all activities related to ongoing Process & Product Development projects for CW pipe winder (Continuous Filament Winding Machine), within a production environment. Ensure timely production of defined prototypes to the given production specifications and dimensions.

 

Support all activities related to the preparation & execution of Product and Process Technology Transfer to the operating companies including generation of manufacturing recipes/ RMCs, production outputs, documentation, technical training of production.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Product Know-How

  • Generate, compile, and maintain a set of process documents and procedures covering the product manufacturing.
  • Generate, compile, and maintain a set of working files for generating manufacturing recipes (total raw material quantity) and production outputs (production time) to support the Central costing team, as well as for use of operations in the available cloud platforms such as Citrix and ERP configurator.

 Process Development projects

  • Plan, lead, manage and be responsible for the execution of Process improvement, development & automation projects, within their agreed scope, allocated budget and time frame.
  • Support the introduction of the developed process and process automation within FPI.
  • Maintain an effective & constructive liaison & communication with all stakeholders.
  • Monitor timely execution of allocated process development projects / tasks related to the development of new process.

 Production of testing prototypes

  • Plan & supervise the production of pre-defined prototype pipe & fitting products to the required process description, dimensions and quality. 

Complete prototypes within agreed timeframes

Technology transfer & troubleshooting at FPI factories.

  • Support the Technology transfer projects with the operating companies in thorough and to ensure an effective technology transfer which includes technical training of production, QA/QC, site service department personnel.
  • Lead and support when needed the operating companies in trouble-shooting the production, installation, testing or Quality Control of newly introduced / existing products and define the corrective actions needed.

Teamwork, Training & Employee Excellence

  • Motivate the Production team by conducting online and offline training sessions, process checks for an improved work environment and promote productivity, raw material efficiencies, improved process and product quality.
  • Train relevant personnel in the theoretical and practical use of Know-How documentation such as process documents, operating procedures, generating of manufacturing recipes, production outputs.

Non-standard Component Support

  • Provide the manufacturing units, sales & VETM with expert technical process support for non-standard piping components by defining the required manufacturing process, manufacturing recipes and production outputs as applicable.

SPAN OF Communication

Internal:

  • Process team, CW Product Team, Other PID team members (HW, Machinery, Raw Material, Testing, Costing etc.)
  • All Internal Departments: Manufacturing / QA&QC etc...

 External:

  • Material & Equipment Manufacturers, Suppliers.

 Job relevant information (BOUNDARIES & DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY)

  • The jobholder is responsible for making decisions related to their direct scope of work.
  • To act on process related requests/ queries from internal and external clients based on the guidelines provided by Process Manager and Product Manager

Skills

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in engineering (preferably mechanical / civil / chemical)

Preferred Experience:

  • 3 years’ experience in production / testing department of a large industrial organization, preferably some of which will have been spent in the pipe / pressure vessel sector.

Job-Specific Skills:

  • Ability to prepare MS Excel calculation files.
  • Ability to understand / learn composite design & process related subjects.
  • Ability to work with other MS Office platforms (Word, PowerPoint etc..) and generate documents.
  • Good insight to general engineering principles
  • Good understanding of MS Excel platform & respective formulas
  • Good documentation management skills
  • Good communicator & planner, Analytical thinking.
