Financial Controller – Future Group Companies in India

JOB PURPOSE:

1. Responsible for Financial Control and Management. Control and manage all type of financial accounting and reporting activities, Financial and Tax Audits of Group companies in India.
2. Responsible for preparation of financial and cash flow budgets.
3. Responsible for preparation of periodical financial reports and analysis.
4. Responsible for all activities related to Treasury, Banking, funded and unfunded facilities.
5. Responsible for compliance with applicable direct and indirect tax laws.  
6. Responsible for risk management functions such as risk register, risk mitigation measures, insurance and related.
7. Responsible for timely completion of statutory financial and tax audits.
8. Responsible for corporate secretarial functions
9. Responsible for compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Budget preparation and control, Manage Financial Activities, Feasibility study

• Preparation of budgets
• Periodical review and analysis of actual results with budgets
• Responsible for periodic update to management on significant variances.
• Control of expenses and initiating cost optimization measures
• Exercise control on assets
• Implementation of internal control policies and procedures
• Adherence to Financial Authority Matrix
• Manage day to day financial and accounting decisions, in line with the group policies and procedures

Financial Reporting and Audit

• Ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of financial reports
• Timely issue of financial reports
• Periodical financial analysis and reports to management
• Managing the relationship with external auditors and advisors
• Timely completion of audits

Treasury and Banking Functions

• Manage the relationship with banks.
• Arrange and renew funded and non-funded facilities.
• Responsible for all KYC information and all other supporting documents to banks.
• Optimise the utilisation of funds.
• Cash flow management and resource allocation.
• Compliance with central bank regulations and reporting requirements.

Taxation

• Compliance with tax statues
• Timely payment of applicable taxes
• Ensure correct withholding of taxes
• Update the management of tax statute changes
• Timely filing of tax returns
• Timely completion of tax audits
• Promptly act upon notices and demands from tax authorities

Corporate Secretarial and Compliance

• Compliance with applicable laws
• Periodic compliance reports to Board of Directors
• Holding of meetings of Board of Directors and Shareholders as required by applicable statutes
• Maintaining corporate records such as minutes of meetings, register of contracts, register of shareholders and other required corporate records
• Filing of statutory returns, forms, and declarations

Risk Management

• Implementing group enterprise risk management policies and procedures
• Prepare and update Risk Register
• Implement risk mitigation measures
• Periodic review of insurance cover requirements

Others

• Support the local management in preparing financial projections, simulations, what-if scenarios
• Support the local management in benchmarking efficiency parameters
• Support the local management initiatives in pooling of resources and shared services

SPAN OF Communication

Internal: Board of Directors, CFO; Chief Legal Officer, General Manager, Unit Finance Heads, Business Unit Managers, IT Department, Business system department

External: All Business Partners, Bankers, Insurance Brokers, Auditors, Tax consultants, External Consultants, Local tax and regulatory authorities

Job relevant information

Prioritize and define the work process/ instructions for subordinate reports, in agreement with the Group CFO.

Make decisions within area of responsibility in line with the group policies and procedures and the authority matrix. Responsible for reporting any non-compliance with Group-wide policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Required Qualifications:

• CA/ CPA
• Masters Degree in Financial Management

Preferred Experience:

• 10 to 15 years of previous finance and accounting experience in an international manufacturing group
• At least 5 years of experience at Finance Manager/Senior Manager experience in an international group
• At least 3 years of experience in dealing with treasury and banking experience in an international group

Job-Specific Skills:

• Hands-on experience with ERP computer systems
• Hands-on experience in budgeting and financial reporting
• High level exposure to taxation and corporate secretarial functions
