Job Description

Position Title: Process Associate – Costing (Indian Nationals Only)

 

Reports to: Team Leader – Costing

 

Unit/ Department:

 

Job Purpose:

 

To perform operational tasks in the relevant domain of (Global Costing). for FPI Group, using defined and written down process guidelines and procedures in achieve the targets / SLAs such as volume, timeliness, productivity, quality and customer experience.

Role based operational domain function and related scope: Global Costing.

 

Function Specific Job Purposes:

 

Prepare project based cost estimation in line with Company Pricing policy for FPG Sales offices. Generate prices for special products based on the requests to support the Global Bids and proposal department.

 

 Key Accountabilities:

 

 Process Management

 

  • Adhere to process guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to achieve the operations targets / SLAs such as volume, Turn Around Time (TAT), productivity, quality and customer experience.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to implementation of effective solutions.
  • Measure performance in own area of work against targets / SLAs in order to deliver the performance standards expected.
  • Adjusts effectively to new processes and shows a strong sense of urgency (timelines, follow ups etc.) about getting the work done. 

Knowledge Management

  • Exhibit basic understanding of the FPI business / domain knowledge sufficient to execute own work as per expected standards.
  • Effectively utilize the Process Manuals, Instruction Guides, SOPs for performing work
  • Contribute to storage and dissemination of knowledge and development of Knowledge Management systems, processes and tools.

Effective Communication

 

  • Ask questions to clarify understanding, delivers written and verbal communication in a clear, logical manner
  • Prepare and present documents and reports that can be well understood and as per FPIG standards. 

Teamwork

 

  • Work effectively in groups by actively participating in team discussions; Seek opinion of team members who have expertise in certain areas; Share knowledge and best practices with teams.

Skills

Qualification, Skills and Experience:

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering, B.Tech/Diploma (Specifically for Operational Function related to Manufacturing).
  • Master’s / bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Engineering/Commerce / Business Administration or equivalent.

 

Work Experience

 

  • 1 - 3 years of experience in a Manufacturing or a Global Shared Services set- up.

 Industry Experience

  • Manufacturing/Financial / KPOs / BPOs/Engineering Service industry experience preferred.
  • Specifically, in the areas such as role based domain expertise
  • Manufacturing – Costing/Quotations (RFQs/RFPs)/Estimation

Job relevant Information:

Processes supported: As Per Operational Function and Domain Scope

Countries supported: Americas, EMEA, GCC and Asia

Support FPG Sales Departments by preparing cost analysis to secure projects for all regions.

 

Processes Specific KEY TASKS:

  • Project based Cost Estimation [Pre-Order Stage]
  • Analyse and ensure the data provided for costing is based on optimised products.
  • Generate cost estimation and Submit to Senior Costing Engineer / Global Costing Senior Manager for review and approval.
  • Prepare Monthly Cost Analysis Report and Submit to Global Costing Senior Manager. 
  • Calculate Price for Special Customised products
  • Liaise with PED/ Component Design Engineer for the product design.
  • Calculate the Price in line with the defined pricing policy.
  • Consult with Senior Costing Engineer / Global Costing Senior Manager to finalize the Prices.
  • Communicate back to the concerned Departments. 
  • Inter Company Purchase
  • Examine manufacturing plant capability/restriction for products purchased between sister concern companies.
  • Calculate Transfer Prices in line with Corporate Finance Policy for the requests from Global FPI manufacturing units. 
  • CRM
  • Reformat the Price List for generation of product codes to be uploaded in CRM format
  • Prepare the distribution list and engage with business systems. 
  • Pricing additional enquiries for awarded projects
  • Analyse the existing Order unit rates alongside the published Price List.
  • Report to Senior Costing Engineer / Global Costing Senior Manager in case of any discounts beyond authorised level.
  • Calculate the rates for new items in line with the Project discount level. 
  • Cost Analysis Control Sheet
  • Maintain and update the Control Sheet daily basis
  • Consult with Senior Costing Engineer to fix the priorities.
  • Generate Weekly Cost Analysis Report.
